Fundraising Updates

Our annual Silent Auction will be here before you know it!  In just under four months (Friday, April 3, 2020) the event of the year will be here!  We are currently looking for volunteers to join the planning committee. Right now, the committee meets approximately once/month and has been known to host awesome meetings that are both productive and fun!  Contact:   withrowauction@gmail.com to join the group.

Our annual Fun Fair is the highly anticipated kid-event of the year and will be here once the snow is gone (Saturday, May 23, 2020) but the planning must begin!  Please reach out to enquire about volunteer opportunities. We love new ideas, fresh perspectives and new parents to join in the planning fun!  Contact:   withrowfunfair@gmail.com

THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed to our Annual Giving Campaign so far.  Every single dollar helps to fuel and fund many school and class initiatives and enrich our students’ experience at Withrow.  Please kindly consider a donation to Withrow so that you can help the school AND get a tax receipt for donations of $25 and above. The donation button is active.

Communication Update

We are constantly striving to improve our communication and ensure we can deliver informative, timely, simple and relevant updates!  With this in mind, we are working with Withrow Administration to investigate ways we can streamline information shared with parents.  We will be back in touch with updates on our progress.

Volunteer Opportunities

Class Reps- A massive THANK YOU to everyone who has volunteered to be a Class Rep! We will be posting their names to the Leadership Team of our website shortly.   We appreciate all that they do to keep parents/guardians in your class informed and up to date with the latest and greatest news.  We only have one class left (Mme. Wong) where we require a parent volunteer.  Please email: withrowhands@gmail.com if you would like to help out in this capacity.

Committee Heads- We are always looking for volunteers to lead many different committees that help to enrich the experience and lives of our students, parents/guardians, school and community.  Check out our Leadership Team webpage to see if there is a role you can see yourself doing!  Contact us at withrowhands@gmail.com to get started!

School Curriculum News

On Mon.  Dec. 9th,  select teachers were outside the school grounds collecting signatures for a petition about the upcoming cancellation of KIP (Kindergarten Intervention Program) as well as preserving class sizes.

There are some important changes being pushed through that will affect the structure of Kindergarten and specifically, KIP.

KIP is a program designed for kindergarten students with special needs that may exhibit violent behavior. The TDSB will be closing this program in June 2020. The eight programs currently serve students enrolled in junior and senior kindergarten.  As more information becomes available on this important topic, we will ensure to share updates.

Have a safe, memorable and wonderful rest of the Holiday season!

We will see you in 2020!
