One of our neighbourhood parks! Withrow Public School is lucky to be situated between two amazing parks, Withrow Park and Riverdale Park East.
Here are some useful links about things happening in each!
Withrow Park

Other Cool Things Happening at Withrow Park
Withrow Farmers Market
June – October
Every Saturday.
Kids activities too!
An outdoor dance festival that brings high quality contemporary and traditional dance to public parks. As dusk descends, a theatrical host leads the audience – which invariably includes children, dog walkers and local residents – to eclectic dance pieces that unfold in different areas of the park. Choreographers from various backgrounds are invited to perform a ten-minute piece inspired by the park’s natural environment. Audiences are invited on a pay-what-you-can basis to an innovative site-specific festival, which is not only an artistic event but a social and cultural one as well. 2019 will be Dusk Dances’ 25th season.
Shakespeare in the Ruff (August)

Riverdale Park
Friends of Riverdale Park East
This group is an informal gathering of people living near, and using Riverdale Park East. Through identifying common interests or concerns, together we can protect and improve the park to best serve the community.
Toronto Parks and Rec – Riverdale Park East
The place to go for information about summer time city run swim lessons, opening times for the summer pool and winter skating rink.
Park Revitalization! In 2017 Riverdale Park East was revitalized with a new skating oval, rink, changerooms, and playground. The Taber Family Foundation worked with the City to have a new scoreboard installed.
Tobogganing
The best tobogganing hill the city and a great place to run into friends from Withrow Public School.
Great news! Our wonderful toboggan hill in Riverdale Park will open as of December, 7, 2019 for the winter season.
The hill was closed last winter, without any warning, due to unsafe conditions caused by shifting soil and debris underground. Staff have now removed the fencing and are cleaning up any remaining construction materials in the area. They ask that the hill be used only when the ground is frozen and there is a good covering of snow, as the restoration work could be damaged during mild weather when the ground is soft.
